This Finnish production put a unique spin on the story - a narrator in the form of a rat dreams of becoming a cat.

On 8th September 2017, Cats opened in Tampere, Finland at Tampereen Teatteri. It is a non-replica production. Produced by a director who was vocally not a fan of the original show, this production introduced a narrator character in the form of a rat, and the whole show occurs in his dream as he dreams of becoming a cat.

The first reviews described it as "a tight package, where everything is tight and carefully done, all the way back to the cats in the last row." ^[1]
