Born and bred in Capetonian, Pierré started singing at the age of three, when he appeared in various touring shows. In his teens, he competed in both local and national singing competitions. After school he started working in the family business, but left after five years to pursue a stage career. He is completing his training in jazz and tap dancing, as well as drama and musical theatre at the Waterfront Theatre College. Cats is his first professional engagement. |

Pierre van Heerden is a South African musical theatre performer. He was a swing in the original South African production of Cats for several years. Since then, he has played the role of Pumbaa in many productions of The Lion King.
