Upon her return to New York, Martin earned the role of "Demeter" in a North American tour of "Cats."
"Once I started rehearsals, I discovered 'Cats' was by far the hardest show I have ever done," Martin said. "There is a 12-minute dance in the middle of the show, and when that's over, we are not even close to being done. It's not even human!"
The music is also very challenging, she explained, with lots of eight-part harmony that required extreme concentration.
Martin injured her back and found she had to take painkillers to get through the show, so she left the tour early to recover and plan her upcoming wedding.
