Jacob Brent

Jacob "Jazzy" Brent is an American stage actor, dancer and choreographer. He is best known for his role as Mistoffelees in Cats, which he played on Broadway, in the 1998 film and in London.

Career[]

Jacob performed in the Broadway production of Cats when it broke the record for longest ever running Broadway show in 1997. He is the only person in the 1998 film cast to have performed in both the original London production and the original Broadway production. Jacob was also in the Las Vegas production of another Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Starlight Express.

He is now an Assistant Professor at Shenandoah Conservatory and frequently teaches at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in NYC. Jacob has also directed and choreographed regional productions of Cats for Gateway Playhouse (2012) and Merry-Go-Round Playhouse (as part of the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival) (2013).

JACOB BRENT (Pouncival) is thrilled to be making his B'way debut. He graduated from N.C. School of the Arts and, most recently, appeared in the original Las Vegas company of Starlight Express. The switch from wheels to paws is a welcome one. Thanks everyone...you know who you are.
